Weekenders Coffee

Kyoto, Japan

Weekenders Coffee is arguably the most well-known specialty coffee roaster in Kyoto. Located in the cultural capital of Japan, Weekenders is surrounded by rich history. Alongside a new wave of dedicated Kyoto artisans, Weekenders strives to carry on traditions while introducing new progression, championing a lighter roast profile to showcase coffee’s natural taste, while preserving a “kissaten” cafe culture which traditionally favored darkly roasted coffee.

We feel the marriage of tradition and progression reflected very well in Weekender’s special taste profile - amazing amount of sweetness, even from their washed coffees, with tea-like body and long finish.

They have two locations in Kyoto — first their iconic coffee kiosk located in the corner of an unassuming city parking lot, and a new roastery + cafe in a renovated Kyoto Machiya, both oozing with traditional Japanese atmosphere.
