Recently, we finally got to visit our personal Scandinavian coffee mecca - La Cabra in Aarhus, Denmark. This cafe has held a special place in our hearts since we first discovered the world of specialty coffee several years ago.

We've been big fans of La Cabra’s coffee taste profile, which is always roasted to “showcase the brightness in coffee”. La Cabra always finds great ways to offer a line-up of coffees with a tasting theme or educational comparison component.

Originating in Aarhus, La Cabra’s first location is nestled in a cozy cafe that exemplifies the Scandinavian concept of hygge, with its wabi-sabi, generational furnishings, minimalistic decor, and warm lighting working together for a harmonic, inviting atmosphere.

From its humble beginnings of operating both a bakery and roastery in a basement space, La Cabra has expanded remarkably. They now have a new bakery-focused location just around the corner from their original cafe, with an exquisite modern-Nordic interior and offering a curated selection of baked goods. For those who are long-staying in Aarhus, the bakery offers baking classes for making sourdough from start to finish!

Aside from the Aarhus cafe, bakery, and their Copenhagen roastery and tasting bar, you can now also find La Cabra at international locations such as New York and Bangkok.
