Coyote Kyoto
Kyoto, Japan
Coyote is one of the most unique coffee shops we’ve visited, as it exclusively carries El Salvadorian coffee via direct trade. Before Coyote, owner Kadokawa-san actually worked on a coffee farm in El Salvador for a few years through a work-assignment program. Having personally produced quality coffee alongside the farmers, he was inspired to introduce El Salvadorian coffee to his home country. From the intimate way they introduced each beans to us, we see their utmost care for all of Coyote’s partner farmers.
Coyote has two locations in Kyoto, “The Original” is conveniently located right outside Kyoto Station. If you have the chance, we highly recommend visiting the wabi-sabi style “The Roots” location as well for an intimate experience — tell the owner Kado we said hi!
