April Coffee Roasters, founded by Patrik Rolf, is synonymous with innovation and passion in the coffee world.
Founder Patrik Rolf is a former consulting firm CEO turned specialty coffee professional — “From Nerd to Pro”, his memoir, details his career change and growing passion for coffee, as well as some personal wisdom on establishing a business in the coffee industry.
Now a seasoned competitor with impressive accolades including the World Brewers Cup runner-up in 2019, Patrik brings his competitive edge and enthusiasm to every roast. April Coffee is known for its meticulous approach to Nordic-style light roasting, emphasizing clarity, sweetness, and complexity in their coffees.
One of the standout innovations from April Coffee is the April Dripper, which we proudly use in our shop for its advantages in evenly extracting light roasted coffees. Though there are several iterations of the April Dripper now, Rolf initially spent several years testing and competing with the very first model. Due to April Dripper’s intricate design, it operates best with its accompanying filter paper and peculiar pouring techniques, showcasing the flavor profile that the company intended to showcase with its roast.
Rolf’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of roasting, brewing, and even an appreciation for Copenhagen-inspired aesthetics makes April a perfect partner for our shop. They now have two stores in Copenhagen — each with uniquely beautiful interiors and atmosphere that are both worth a stop!
